Key features

  • AI interviewer roleplays set up for the role and company you enter, with dynamic follow-up questions based on your answers
  • Choice of interviewer demeanor and questions picked from an interview bank or written by you
  • Delivery feedback on pace, filler words, pauses, clarity and eye contact, plus body-language notes when the camera is on
  • Feedback on uploaded recordings of your own practice or talks on paid plans
  • Company-specific interview resources and repeatable practice after each analysis

Pricing

  • Starter — $0 — 5 roleplays in total (any session over 30 seconds counts as one)
  • Pro — $8/mo billed annually ($96/yr) — up to 10 roleplays per week, live AI roleplays, feedback on uploaded recordings
  • Advanced — $20/mo billed annually ($240/yr) — unlimited roleplays, your data excluded from AI training, reimbursement letter for learning budgets
  • Team and Enterprise — custom quote — unlimited custom roleplays, dashboards, SSO and LMS/HRIS integrations
Good fit for

Job seekers who want to rehearse answers out loud and tighten their speaking delivery at a low annual cost.

Look elsewhere if

Candidates preparing for coding, system design or other technical rounds that need answers checked for correctness.

How it scored

  • Practice & feedback quality: 80/100. Spoken roleplays with dynamic follow-ups and detailed delivery feedback stand out, though reviewers say content coaching is lighter.
  • Role & format coverage: 70/100. You can set any role and company and use panel-style personas, but it does not cover technical or coding interviews.
  • Value: 90/100. Pro at $8/mo billed annually is one of the cheapest paid options here, and Advanced adds unlimited practice for $20/mo.
  • Privacy & reliability: 80/100. Practice data can be used to improve its AI by default on lower plans, with an opt-out in settings and exclusion on Advanced.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 80/100. Reviewers often recommend it for delivery practice, while user ratings are too few to weigh heavily.

Our verdict

Yoodli ranks first: its spoken roleplays ask natural follow-up questions and give detailed feedback on pace, filler words and clarity, and paid plans start at $8/mo billed annually. Reviewers say its coaching leans toward how you speak rather than what you say, and it does not cover coding or technical rounds.

Pros
  • Spoken roleplays with follow-up questions feel close to a real conversation
  • Detailed delivery metrics such as pace, filler words and eye contact
  • Low annual price for the Pro plan
Cons
  • Feedback focuses more on delivery than on answer content, according to reviewers
  • Not suited to technical or coding interview practice
  • Free plan allows only 5 roleplays in total, and paid plans are shown as annual billing
Things to know before you buy:
  • The free Starter plan is a one-time allowance of 5 roleplays, and Pro is capped at 10 roleplays per week with no rollover.
  • Yoodli says it does not offer refunds on cancellation; canceling stops auto-renewal and access continues to the end of the billing period.
  • Session data may be used to improve Yoodli’s AI on Starter and Pro; you can opt out in profile settings, and Advanced excludes your data from AI training.

Good fit for

Candidates for product, engineering, data or finance roles who want structured courses plus free peer practice and some AI rehearsal.

Look elsewhere if

People who want a voice AI interviewer that tailors questions to their resume or job description, or who prep for non-tech roles.

How it scored

  • Practice & feedback quality: 70/100. Its AI interviewer runs audio practice on real questions with rubric-based feedback and transcripts, though it is less detailed than dedicated AI mock interview tools.
  • Role & format coverage: 90/100. It covers a wide range of tech, product, data, AI and investment banking interview types, with company-specific questions and structured courses.
  • Value: 80/100. Annual billing brings the full library to $12/mo and AI practice to $20/mo, though monthly plans cost far more.
  • Privacy & reliability: 80/100. Its privacy policy does not say whether AI practice data is used for training or which AI providers process it.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 80/100. Reviewers often recommend it for free peer practice, and its small number of user ratings are positive.

Our verdict

Aced, formerly Exponent, ranks second: it covers more interview types than almost any tool here, from product and system design to data and investment banking, and pairs free peer mocks with an AI interviewer that scores answers against rubrics. Its AI practice sits on the higher Expert tier and is less detailed than the tools built around AI mock interviews.

Pros
  • Wide range of tech, product, data and finance interview tracks
  • Peer mock interviews included on the free plan
  • Low annual price for the full course library
Cons
  • AI mock interviews require the higher Expert tier
  • Reviewers say peer partner quality and scheduling vary
  • Annual plans are billed upfront even though prices are shown per month
Things to know before you buy:
  • Exponent renamed itself Aced in August 2026, and tryexponent.com now redirects to aced.io.
  • Memberships auto-renew; subscriptions can be refunded within 5 days of purchase.
  • Free accounts are limited to 5 peer mock interviews a month.

Look elsewhere if

Candidates outside software engineering, or anyone who wants human mock interviews, which it no longer offers.

How it scored

  • Practice & feedback quality: 80/100. Its voice AI interviewer reads your whiteboard, asks follow-ups and gives a hire decision with specific fixes, and users credit its guided practice with helping them pass rounds.
  • Role & format coverage: 60/100. It covers system design, low-level design, AI-enabled coding and behavioral interviews by level, but only for software engineering roles.
  • Value: 90/100. Premium starts at $95 a year at the current discount, with extra AI interviews from $10 each.
  • Privacy & reliability: 80/100. It names the AI services that process practice sessions, says it does not keep voice recordings for voice features, and offers in-app account deletion.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 60/100. Its few user ratings are positive, especially for system design practice, though independent reviews are limited.

Our verdict

Hello Interview ranks third: its voice AI interviewer reads your whiteboard, asks follow-ups and returns a hire decision for your target level, and Premium starts at $95 a year. It covers software engineering roles only, Premium includes just a few live AI sessions, and independent ratings are still limited.

Pros
  • Voice AI interviewer reacts to your whiteboard and asks follow-ups
  • Detailed reports with a hire decision for your target level
  • Low-cost Premium plans and extra sessions from $10
Cons
  • Covers software engineering roles only
  • Premium includes only 1 to 4 Live Practice sessions

  • The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment that does not auto-renew.
  • Current prices are a limited-time discount from the listed $59, $119 and $399.
  • Price change: Hello Interview ended its human mock interview and mentorship programs on May 31, 2026, and refunded unexpired credits.

Look elsewhere if

Candidates preparing for coding or system design rounds, since reviewers say it cannot check technical answers.

How it scored

  • Practice & feedback quality: 70/100. Recorded practice with detailed delivery metrics and job-description-based follow-ups is useful, though reviewers find content feedback generic.
  • Role & format coverage: 80/100. A large question library spanning industries, admissions and government roles plus a full lesson curriculum gives wide coverage outside technical interviews.
  • Value: 70/100. Plans run from $39 for 30 days to a $299 lifetime option with a 30-day money-back period, more than the cheapest apps but with a full course included.
  • Privacy & reliability: 80/100. It treats student records under education privacy rules for schools and deletes recordings when you delete your account.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 70/100. Reviewers often recommend it for students and career changers, while user ratings are scarce and some reviewers call its feedback generic.

Our verdict

Big Interview ranks fourth: it pairs a structured video course with recorded AI practice that can be tailored to a job description, and many schools give it to students for free. Reviewers find its feedback more generic on answer content, and its individual plans cost more than app-based rivals.

Pros
  • Structured curriculum with about 170 video lessons alongside practice
  • Broad question library across industries, admissions and government roles
  • 30-day money-back period and a one-time lifetime option
Cons
  • Reviewers describe some AI feedback as generic and delivery-focused

  • Individual plans cost more than low-cost AI practice apps
Things to know before you buy:
  • Many universities and workforce programs provide free access, so check with your school or career center before buying.
  • BootCamp and Accelerator are subscriptions that renew; renewals can be canceled from the account page, and refunds within 30 days of purchase are requested by email.
  • AI feedback needs recordings of at least 30 seconds.

Pricing

  • Free — $0 — unlimited Goals, resume and materials upload, job description parsing and prep checklist; practice sessions require a paid plan
  • Pro (annual) — $25/mo billed annually (about $300 upfront) — practice interviews, automatic debriefs, unlimited live assistant sessions and screen help
  • Pro (monthly) — reported at about $150/mo; the vendor page shows only the $25/mo rate with a note about savings on longer plans, so check the price at checkout
Good fit for

Job seekers preparing for a specific role who want realistic spoken practice across behavioral, technical and product formats with targeted follow-up drills.

Look elsewhere if

Buyers on a tight budget who want to pay month to month, or who prefer to try practice sessions before paying, since there is no free trial.

How it scored

  • Practice & feedback quality: 80/100. Reviewers and users describe its spoken practice sessions as realistic, with relevant follow-up questions and debriefs that flag weak answers, though some users found the suggested answers generic.
  • Role & format coverage: 90/100. It covers eight practice formats including coding, system design, product case, data/ML and salary negotiation, all tailored to your target job and resume.
  • Value: 50/100. The $25/mo rate requires paying for a year upfront, and users report a much higher monthly price and a short, usage-limited refund window.
  • Privacy & reliability: 50/100. Its policy allows transcripts and resumes to be used for AI training by default without an in-product opt-out, and users often report billing and refund problems.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 60/100. Reviewers often include it in interview-prep lists for its depth of simulation, but users give it mixed ratings, citing billing and support issues.

Our verdict

Final Round AI ranks fifth: its spoken practice sessions are tailored to your role, company and resume and cover more formats than most tools here, including coding, product case and salary negotiation. Upfront annual billing, a short refund window, default use of transcripts for AI training and frequent user complaints about billing hold it back.

Pros
  • Practice sessions are built around your target role, company, job description and resume
  • Covers coding, system design, product case, data/ML and salary negotiation as well as behavioral rounds
  • Debriefs flag weak answers and turn them into re-drill targets for the next session
Cons
  • The headline $25/mo rate is billed annually upfront, and monthly billing is reported to cost far more
  • Users frequently report refund denials, unwanted renewals and support that is mostly automated
  • No free trial of practice sessions, and the app requires macOS or Windows
Things to know before you buy:
  • The refund policy covers requests made within 72 hours of a charge, only once per customer, and is void after two sessions of more than 30 minutes; cancelling does not itself request a refund.
  • By default, interview transcripts, resumes and feedback may be used to train its AI models; there is no in-product opt-out, and requests go by email.
  • Its live interview assistant runs during real interviews; some employers don’t allow AI help in interviews, so check before using it.

Good fit for

Candidates who want affordable voice practice for behavioral and technical rounds alongside resume and job tracking tools, including on a phone.

Look elsewhere if

Heavy users who want unlimited practice, since every session draws from a credit balance shared with the live copilot and other tools.

How it scored

  • Practice & feedback quality: 70/100. Reviewers credit its resume-based questions and voice or text practice with feedback, though they found its system design simulations less polished.
  • Role & format coverage: 80/100. It covers behavioral, coding, system design and case interviews across many fields, with practice on web and mobile apps.
  • Value: 70/100. Reviewers call it good value, though credit-based practice is less straightforward than unlimited plans and credits are shared with other tools.
  • Privacy & reliability: 80/100. It names the AI providers that process your content and says they do not train on it, and you can delete your account and data from your profile.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 60/100. Reviewers include it as a good-value option, but it has very few user ratings so far.

Our verdict

OphyAI ranks sixth: it offers voice and text mock interviews for behavioral, coding, system design and case rounds on web and mobile, and it names AI providers that do not train on your content. Its shared credit system is less straightforward than unlimited plans, and it has few user ratings so far.

Pros
  • Covers behavioral, coding, system design and case formats in one tool
  • Voice and text practice on web, iPhone and Android
  • Names its AI providers and says they do not train on your content
Cons
  • Practice sessions draw from a credit balance shared with the copilot and other tools
  • Reviewers say its system design practice is less polished than its coding and behavioral modes
  • Newer tool with few user ratings
Things to know before you buy:
  • Credits are shared: each voice practice session costs 15 credits after the first, so Pro’s 300 monthly credits cover about 20 voice sessions if nothing else is used.
  • Quarterly and yearly plans have a 72-hour money-back period for first purchases only; monthly plans are refunded only for verified technical failures, and passes and credit packs are non-refundable.
  • Its live interview assistant runs during real interviews; some employers don’t allow AI help in interviews, so check before using it.

Our verdict

Interviewing.io ranks seventh: its free AI interviewer gives software engineers FAANG-style coding and system design practice, backed by paid anonymous sessions with senior engineers. Its AI practice is narrow and lightly documented, and human sessions start at $179 each.

  • Expert & User Ratings: 60/100. Reviewers include it among interview-prep options for its voice practice, and the few user ratings available are mostly positive.

Our verdict

Interview Sidekick ranks eighth: its voice mock interviews adapt to your job description and draw on a large company-tagged question bank with scored feedback. Its paid plan costs more than most rivals here, its pricing is hard to pin down, and its data-deletion terms are restrictive.

Pros
  • Large question bank covering more than 1,200 companies, each question with a suggested answer
  • Scored feedback on clarity, structure and impact, plus delivery notes such as filler words
  • Covers unusual formats such as visa, certification, thesis-defense and admissions interviews
Cons
  • Listed price depends on a discount code and region, and the pricing page itself shows no amounts
  • Privacy policy gives no retention periods and says data may not be deleted on request unless the law requires it
  • Reviewers say its question library leans toward behavioral and product roles
Things to know before you buy:
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle; cancel in account settings before the period ends, and access continues until then.
  • The free plan includes limited prep sessions and question bank access, and works in Chrome, on the desktop app for macOS and Windows, or in a phone browser.
  • Its live interview assistant runs during real interviews; some employers don’t allow AI help in interviews, so check before using it.

How to Choose

Match the tool to your interview type

Behavioral interviews call for spoken practice with feedback on structure and delivery, while coding, system design and data interviews need tools that can judge technical answers. Most tools are strong at one or two formats, so start with the round you are most worried about.

Practice out loud, with follow-up questions

Real interviews are spoken and interviewers dig into your answers. Tools that let you answer by voice or video and then ask follow-up questions prepare you better than ones that only show a list of questions or accept typed answers.

Look for feedback you can act on

Good feedback points to specific gaps, such as a missing result in a STAR answer, a weak trade-off in a design or too many filler words, and suggests how to fix them. Generic praise or a single score is much less useful.

Tailor practice to the job you want

Several tools build questions from a job description, your resume or a target company. This helps you rehearse the stories and skills that a specific employer is likely to ask about.

Check the real cost and billing terms

Some low monthly prices are only available when you pay for a year upfront, and refund windows can be short or limited by how much you have used. Check session or credit limits, renewal terms and whether your school or employer already offers a tool for free.

Know the difference between practice and live help

Some tools also sell an assistant that suggests answers during a real interview. This page judges tools on preparation only, and many employers don’t allow AI help during interviews, so check the rules before using one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do AI interview prep tools do?

They run mock interviews where an AI interviewer asks questions, often by voice or video, follows up on your answers and then gives feedback on content and delivery. Many also include question banks, sample answers, lessons and practice tailored to a job description or company.

Are there free AI interview practice tools?

Yes. Google’s Interview Warmup is free, Huru says its app is now free for job seekers, and several ranked tools have free plans or free sessions, including Yoodli, Aced, Hello Interview and HackerRank. Free plans usually limit the number of sessions or feedback reports.

Which tool is best for coding and system design interviews?

Hello Interview, Interviewing.io and HackerRank focus on software engineering, and Aced covers system design alongside product, data and finance roles. For behavioral and general interviews, Yoodli and Big Interview are more suitable.

What is the difference between an interview practice tool and an interview copilot?

A practice tool helps you rehearse before the interview. A copilot listens during a real interview and suggests answers, and many employers don’t allow that. Several tools on this page offer both, but we rank them on their practice features only.

Do these tools keep my interview recordings?

It varies. Some keep recordings and transcripts until you delete your account, some use practice data to improve their AI unless you opt out or choose a higher plan, and a few say they do not keep voice recordings. Check each tool’s privacy settings before you record.

How We Evaluated

Every Flickthru ranking follows the same five-step process, applied the same way to every product on the page.

  1. Market scan: We gathered the 21 platforms recommended across current expert reviews, buyer guides and verified-user ratings, then shortlisted the 10 that best fit this category and offer their own built-in AI.
  2. Evidence gathering: For each shortlisted product we collected features, plans and current pricing from the vendor, alongside the strengths and weaknesses reported in recent expert reviews.
  3. Risk checks: We checked every product for recent price changes and service reliability. Anything relevant is summarised in the product’s Detailed Analysis and reflected in its score.
  4. Scoring: Each product is scored against the five criteria in our Evaluation Methodology using the same rules for every product, and the Flickthru Score out of 100 combines them. Practice & feedback quality, the main job these tools do, counts most. Value is judged on what the paid plans deliver for their price. Each product’s Detailed Analysis explains how it scored on every criterion. Each criterion is scored from 1 to 10, where 8 means good, 9 very good and 10 excellent.
  5. Editorial independence: Rankings are decided by Flickthru’s editorial process alone. Placement cannot be bought.
