Candidates looking for jobs outside the US or anyone who wants a hands-off tool that reliably submits applications for them.

How it scored

  • Job matching & application quality: 90/100. Users and reviewers praise its job matching, though some report stale or off-field matches and resume edits that need correcting.
  • Automation & coverage: 80/100. It combines a job feed, autofill on major applicant tracking systems, alerts, referral hints and tracking, but covers US jobs only.
  • Value: 70/100. Turbo costs $39.99 a month or $17.99 a week, which is mid-range for the field, and a free plan covers the basics.
  • Privacy & reliability: 70/100. It names its AI providers and keeps data no longer than six months after an account closes, but shares candidate data with employers and advertising partners.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 90/100. Users rate it very highly in large numbers, and most guides to AI job search tools include it for job matching.

Our verdict

Jobright ranks first: users and reviewers rate its personalized job feed and match scores highly, and it adds autofill, per-job resume tailoring and referral hints in one place. It lists US jobs only, and its tailored resumes and autofilled answers still need checking before you send them.

Pros
  • Large, frequently refreshed feed of US jobs with a match score for each role
  • Free plan lets you try matching, autofill and tailoring before paying
  • Referral hints point to alumni and hiring managers at target companies
Cons
  • Lists US-based roles only
  • Some users report stale listings, staffing-agency posts and matches outside their field
  • Tailored resumes and autofilled answers can contain errors or added skills, so they need checking
Things to know before you buy:
  • Turbo is sold weekly, monthly or quarterly and renews automatically; the weekly plan works out to about $77 a month.
  • Jobright currently lists only US-based jobs.
  • Confirm the current Turbo price at checkout, and check whether the automated application agent is available on your account before paying for it.

Key features

  • Copilot extension that autofills applications on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and many other applicant tracking systems and career sites
  • Daily job matches indexed from more than 50 job boards and company career pages, ranked against your preferences
  • Job tracker that logs applications automatically, with status, contacts, interview notes and follow-up emails
  • AI resume tailoring for each job, with line-by-line suggestions and missing-keyword checks
  • Autopilot in the iOS app that tailors a resume to each job and submits the application

Pricing

  • Free — $0 — autofill, job matches, job tracker and referral tools
  • Simplify+ weekly — $19.99/wk (about $86/mo) — AI-tailored resumes, AI cover letters and AI answers to essay questions
  • Simplify+ monthly — $39.99/mo — same Simplify+ features
  • Simplify+ 3 months — $89.99 every 3 months — same Simplify+ features
Good fit for

Job seekers applying through company career sites who want to cut form-filling time while reviewing each application themselves.

Look elsewhere if

Buyers who want flexible refunds or polished AI writing without editing.

How it scored

  • Job matching & application quality: 80/100. Reviewers praise its autofill on large portals and the control of reviewing each form, though users report mismapped fields on smaller sites and AI writing that needs editing.
  • Automation & coverage: 90/100. Its autofill covers a wide range of applicant tracking systems and career sites, with free job matching, automatic tracking and an Autopilot mode in the iOS app.
  • Value: 60/100. The free plan is generous, but Simplify+ costs $39.99 a month or $19.99 a week with a strict no-refund policy.
  • Privacy & reliability: 70/100. It may use your activity and profile data to train its own AI matching systems without a stated opt-out, and may show selected profiles to employers.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 90/100. Reviewers often name it the top free autofill tool and users rate the extension highly, though paid subscribers report more billing complaints.

Our verdict

Simplify ranks second: its free Copilot extension fills in forms on major application portals such as Workday, Greenhouse and Lever, and you review every form before it is sent. Its paid AI writing often needs editing, field mapping is less reliable on smaller career sites, and it may use your profile data to train its own matching.

Pros
  • Autofill, job matches and the tracker are free
  • Works on major applicant tracking systems, including Workday, Greenhouse and Lever
  • You review every form before submitting in the browser extension
Cons
  • Field mapping can be unreliable on smaller or custom career sites
  • Users report that paid AI resumes and answers often need substantial editing
  • Some users report difficulty getting refunds
Things to know before you buy:
  • Simplify+ renews automatically, and payments are non-refundable once a subscription is active, except a possible pro-rated refund if you contact support within 24 hours of an unintended renewal.
  • The weekly plan works out to about $86 a month, so the monthly or 3-month plan costs less for longer searches.
  • iOS subscriptions are billed and refunded through Apple, not Simplify.

Good fit for

Job seekers managing many applications who want tracking, autofill and per-job tailoring in one place.

Look elsewhere if

Buyers looking for a recommended job feed or automatic application submission.

How it scored

  • Job matching & application quality: 80/100. Users praise its per-job tailoring and keyword-gap insights, and you review everything before applying, though some find autofill inconsistent.
  • Automation & coverage: 70/100. It covers tracking, clipping from many job sites and autofill, but has no automated applying or recommended job feed.
  • Value: 70/100. Pro is $40 a month, dropping to about $30 or $26.66 a month on longer plans, and the free plan includes unlimited autofill.
  • Privacy & reliability: 80/100. It says it will never sell personal data and shares profiles with employers only with your consent, though its policy does not address AI use.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 80/100. Reviewers often recommend it for tracking and per-application tailoring, and users rate it well.

Our verdict

Huntr ranks third: it pairs a clear board-style tracker and unlimited free autofill with per-job AI tailoring of resumes and cover letters, so you stay in control of every application. It has no job feed or auto-apply, and Pro is pricey on monthly billing.

Pros
  • Unlimited autofill is included on the free plan
  • Per-job AI tailoring of resumes and cover letters, with keyword gaps shown
  • Clear board view for moving applications through stages
Cons
  • Pro costs $40 a month on monthly billing
  • Free plan tracks up to 100 jobs and includes only 2 tailored resumes
  • Some users find autofill hit-or-miss
Things to know before you buy:
  • There is no free trial of Pro; quarterly ($90) and 6-month ($160) billing lower the monthly cost.
  • After cancelling, Pro stays active until the billing period ends and your data is kept, but tracking is capped at 100 jobs on the free plan.
  • Autofill only works where the application form is visible, and it does not submit applications for you.

  • Free — $0 — limited access to core tools; no Auto Apply
  • Premium — $29/mo or $144/yr — resume builder, cover letters, interview practice, job board and resume scanner
  • Auto Apply 100 / 250 — $49/mo / $99/mo — 100 or 250 application credits; credits do not expire
  • Add-ons — $12/mo each — tailored resume and tailored cover letter for Auto Apply applications
Good fit for

Job seekers applying to many similar roles who want each application to go out with a tailored resume and cover letter.

Look elsewhere if

Budget-conscious users, since Auto Apply and tailoring add-ons are charged on top of the base subscription.

How it scored

  • Job matching & application quality: 70/100. It tailors documents for each job and offers approval modes, though some users report applications to mismatched roles.
  • Automation & coverage: 80/100. It handles matching, tailored documents and submission end to end, with interview tools included.
  • Value: 60/100. Full auto-apply with tailoring costs well above the $29/mo base plan once credit packs and add-ons are added.
  • Privacy & reliability: 80/100. It says it does not sell personal data and tells its AI providers not to train on prompts or outputs.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 80/100. Reviewers often list it among the stronger end-to-end options, and users rate it highly.

Our verdict

AIApply ranks fourth: it handles the whole process, finding jobs, tailoring a resume and cover letter for each one and submitting applications, with modes that let you approve jobs first. Auto Apply and tailoring cost extra on top of Premium, and some users report applications to mismatched roles.

Pros
  • Tailors a resume and cover letter for each application
  • Review and Hybrid modes let you approve jobs before they are sent
  • Users praise its ease of use and time savings
Cons
  • Auto Apply and tailoring are paid add-ons on top of Premium
  • Some users report applications to mismatched roles or job titles
  • Supported job boards and application systems are not listed
Things to know before you buy:
  • Auto Apply credits are bought separately from Premium; each credit equals one application, and credits do not expire.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in account settings; refunds are decided case by case.
  • Tailored resumes are generated at submission and can be checked only afterward, so review your base resume and criteria first.

Our verdict

Careerflow ranks sixth: its extension saves jobs from many sites into a tracker and fills in forms while you keep control of what is sent. It offers little job matching, much of the paid plan pays for writing tools, and some users report bugs.

Look elsewhere if

Senior or specialized candidates who need to review every detail before an application is sent.

How it scored

  • Job matching & application quality: 60/100. Swipe mode keeps you in charge of which jobs get applications, but users report poor-fit matches and limited visibility into what is submitted.
  • Automation & coverage: 70/100. It applies directly on company career pages at unlimited volume on paid plans, with both manual and autopilot modes.
  • Value: 70/100. Unlimited applications from $34.99 a month and a free plan that applies for you are competitive, though tailored resumes require the higher plan.
  • Privacy & reliability: 70/100. It says it does not sell identifiable resumes as training data, but employer discovery may be on by default and data is shared with advertising partners.
  • Expert & User Ratings: 70/100. Users rate it highly, though the review base is small and expert coverage is limited.

Our verdict

Wobo ranks ninth: its swipe-to-apply and Autopilot modes apply for you on company career pages, and even the free plan sends a few applications a day. Users report poor-fit matches and limited visibility into what is submitted, and tailored resumes need the top plan.

Pros
  • Free plan submits a few applications per day
  • Choice between picking jobs yourself or full autopilot
  • Job cards show match scores and employer grades
Cons
  • Some users report matches that do not fit their experience
  • Limited visibility into the final application before it is sent
  • Tailored resumes are limited to the top plan
Things to know before you buy:
  • Quarterly billing is offered at a lower rate, but quarterly prices are not listed on the pricing page.
  • Its employer Discovery feature can show a de-identified version of your profile to employers by default; it can be turned off in Discovery Settings.
  • Canceling a subscription does not withdraw applications already sent.

Look elsewhere if

Job seekers outside the US or anyone who needs a resume tailored to each job.

How it scored

  • Job matching & application quality: 60/100. You can edit the daily job queue before it is sent, but users report repeated and mismatched suggestions and little tailoring.
  • Automation & coverage: 60/100. It handles matching and submission automatically but is limited to the US and 15 applications per day.

  • Expert & User Ratings: 60/100. Users rate it moderately, and it appears on fewer recent expert lists than other auto-apply tools.

  • Simple setup with email confirmations for each application
  • Option to pause the account instead of cancelling
Cons
  • Available in the US only
  • Some users report repeated or mismatched job suggestions

How to Choose

Decide how much control you want

Tools range from autofill extensions, where you check and submit every form, to agents that apply for you every day. Copilot-style tools take longer but keep each application accurate; full auto-apply saves time but can send applications you would not have chosen. Many tools offer a review mode, so turn it on at least for the first week.

Test match quality before you pay

The value of any of these tools depends on whether the jobs it finds actually fit your experience, location and salary. Use the free plan or trial to look at a few days of matches, and set exclusions for job titles, companies and seniority levels you don’t want.

Check which job sites and portals it handles

Some tools work best on large application systems such as Workday, Greenhouse and Lever and struggle with smaller career sites or multi-step forms. Others only cover certain job boards or only list jobs in the US or Europe. Make sure the tool works where your target employers hire.

Read every tailored resume and answer

AI tailoring can rephrase job titles, add skills you don’t have or give wrong answers to screening questions. Check what will be sent under your name, keep a master resume that is accurate, and switch off rewriting options you don’t want.

Work out the real cost and billing terms

Many of these tools bill weekly or every few days, so multiply weekly prices by about 4.3 to compare monthly costs. Check whether the plan renews automatically, how to cancel and the refund terms, as several tools give refunds only within a few days or not at all.

Know how your data is used

Your resume and application answers are personal data. Check whether the tool uses them to train its AI, whether it shares your profile with employers or advertising partners, and how to delete your account. Automating applications on LinkedIn can also go against LinkedIn’s user agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do AI job search and auto-apply tools do?

They find job openings that match your background, fill in application forms, tailor your resume and cover letter for each role and track where you have applied. Auto-apply tools go further and submit applications for you, either after you approve each job or automatically each day.

Do auto-apply tools actually get you interviews?

They can increase how many applications you send, but users report mixed results, and sending many poorly matched applications rarely helps. Most guides suggest using tools that let you review matches and tailored resumes, and focusing on roles that genuinely fit your experience.

Is it safe to let an AI apply to jobs for me?

It can be, if you keep control. Turn on review or approval modes, check tailored resumes for errors, set exclusions for jobs you don’t want and avoid tools that automate LinkedIn applications, which can go against LinkedIn’s user agreement. Also read how each tool uses and shares your data.

Are there free AI job search tools?

Yes. Simplify, Huntr, Teal, Jobright and Careerflow have free plans that include job tracking, and several include autofill or job matching. LoopCV and Wobo also have free plans that send a small number of applications for you.

How are these different from AI resume builders and cover letter generators?

This page ranks tools for finding jobs and getting applications submitted: job matching, autofill, auto-apply and tracking. Tools whose main job is writing or checking resumes and cover letters are ranked on their own pages in our AI Career & Job Search Tools section.

How We Evaluated

Every Flickthru ranking follows the same five-step process, applied the same way to every product on the page.

  1. Market scan: We gathered the 21 platforms recommended across current expert reviews, buyer guides and verified-user ratings, then shortlisted the 10 that best fit this category and offer their own built-in AI.
  2. Evidence gathering: For each shortlisted product we collected features, plans and current pricing from the vendor, alongside the strengths and weaknesses reported in recent expert reviews.
  3. Risk checks: We checked every product for recent price changes and service reliability. Anything relevant is summarised in the product’s Detailed Analysis and reflected in its score.
  4. Scoring: Each product is scored against the five criteria in our Evaluation Methodology using the same rules for every product, and the Flickthru Score out of 100 combines them. Job matching & application quality, the main job these tools do, counts most. Value is judged on what the paid plans deliver for their price. Each product’s Detailed Analysis explains how it scored on every criterion. Each criterion is scored from 1 to 10, where 8 means good, 9 very good and 10 excellent.
  5. Editorial independence: Rankings are decided by Flickthru’s editorial process alone. Placement cannot be bought.
