Game Launch Fixer

Privacy policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

In short

Game Launch Fixer runs entirely on your PC. It does not collect, store or send any personal data or scan results to Flickthru or anyone else.

Who we are

Game Launch Fixer is a free Windows app made by Flickthru (flickthru.com). This policy explains what the app does with information on your PC. It covers the app only; your visits to flickthru.com are covered by the website’s own privacy information.

What the app reads on your PC

To explain why a game won’t launch or load, Game Launch Fixer reads, without changing, the following information on your PC when you press Scan:

  • The list of games installed with Steam, Epic Games, Battle.net, the EA app, Ubisoft Connect and the BSG Launcher, and their install folders.
  • Files inside the game folder you choose to scan (for example, to spot damaged or missing files).
  • Whether anti-cheat software (Easy Anti-Cheat, BattlEye, EA Javelin, Ricochet) is installed or switched off.
  • Your PC’s memory (RAM), page file setting, drives, free space and whether each drive is an SSD or hard drive.
  • The names of programs currently running, to spot software known to clash with anti-cheat.
  • Whether your PC is a laptop, whether it’s running on battery, and its power-saving settings.
  • Your Windows version and whether Secure Boot is on.
  • Recent error lines from the game’s and anti-cheat’s own log files.

This information is used only to show your results on screen. It stays on your PC and is cleared when you close the app.

What the app does not do

  • It does not send your scan results, game list, files or any other information over the internet.
  • It does not use accounts, sign-ins, tracking, advertising IDs or analytics.
  • It does not change, delete or modify your game files, anti-cheat or Windows settings.
  • It does not read your personal documents, photos, passwords or browsing history.

Reports you save or copy

If you click Save report or Copy report, the app creates a text report of your results. It is saved only where you choose, or copied to your clipboard. The report includes your game’s folder path, which may contain your Windows user name. It is only shared if you choose to share it yourself, for example on a forum or with game support.

Recommendation buttons

Some results include a button to a recommendations page on flickthru.com. Nothing is sent unless you click one. If you do, your web browser opens the page, and the link includes:

Included in the linkExampleWhy
The game scannedgame=rustTo show advice relevant to that game
The issue foundissue=hard-driveTo show the right recommendations
Laptop or desktopdevice=laptopTo show products that fit your PC
Where the visit came fromsrc=launchfixerTo know the visit came from the app

Apart from the items above, the link does not include your name, scan results or any identifier unique to you. Once the page opens, your visit is covered by flickthru.com’s own privacy information. Some recommendations link to retailers such as Amazon, and Flickthru may earn a commission from qualifying purchases; those retailers’ own privacy policies apply on their sites.

Downloads and updates

If you install Game Launch Fixer from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the download, installation and updates under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Flickthru does not receive personal information about you from this.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above before the new version is released.
