Asus ZenWiFi BQ16 Pro Review
The performance leader when range, backhaul capacity and 10GbE matter more than price.
At a Glance
This model is best suited to large homes with multi-gig service and demanding wireless backhaul. Its strongest buying points are exceptional tested speed, quad-band wireless backhaul headroom, and subscription-free security suite.
Technical Assessment
The dual-6 GHz, 4×4 radio design and dual 10GbE interfaces make this the most technically headroom-rich system in the set. Its advantages matter most with multi-gig service, wired 10GbE equipment or demanding wireless backhaul; otherwise much of the capacity remains unused.
Performance
Two-pack lab review found excellent peak speed, very good range and unusually consistent satellite latency; detailed numeric tables were paywalled. Current test program measured 2.620 Gbps at 15 feet and useful service at 100 feet for the BQ16 Pro.
Features and Workflow
The feature set combines Advertised Wireless Rates: 1376 Mbps (2.4 GHz), 5764 Mbps (5 GHz), and 11529 Mbps on each 6 GHz radio, Network Security: AiProtection Pro, two-way IPS, malicious-site blocking, infected-device prevention, firewall, WPA3 and DNS-over-TLS, Processor: 2.6 GHz quad-core processor, and Memory: 2 GB RAM and 256 MB flash. Together, these capabilities support more complete day-to-day workflows and reduce reliance on a single headline specification.
Reliability and Ownership
Current test program measured 2.620 Gbps at 15 feet and useful service at 100 feet for the BQ16 Pro. Long-term failure-rate evidence is not established, so no owner aggregate is converted into a reliability rate.
